Golf holidays in Scarborough
Scarborough offers four or five excellent local golf courses. Two are in Scarborough, while Filey and the championship course at Ganton, are just a short drive away, as is Whitby.
North Cliff Golf Club is the closest to us. It has a clifftop start and finish with stunning views of North Bay and Scarborough Castle.
Scarborough South Cliff Golf Club is about a mile south of Scarborough on the Filey road and is split between links style holes on the coastal side, and parkland holes on the inland sections. The coastal side has spectacular views over Scarborough's south bay.
Filey Golf Club is about a half an hour drive south south and provides a full course plus a nine hole course.
Scarborough Golf Week in 2008 is from the 31 August and is held on these courses plus Whitby, which is about 45 minutes to the north of Scarborough. Do check with the courses before travelling.
All these clubs are open to non members and normally provide 2 for 1 offers.
Ganton Golf Club is a championship course set on quiet undulating heathland that has played host to the Walker Cup, the Curtis Cup and the Ryder Cup. It's about half an hour inland on the York road (A64). Booking is advisable and you may need your handicap certificate.
